Unstone Junior School in 1912-13 information required
Hi
I am researching my family history and my grandfather Harry Morley and his wife Annie lived at 40 Buckingham terrace in 1911 according to the same census. His son Stanley Morley was aged 3 at the time of the census, Does anybody know if I can obtain school records from Unstone Junior School for the period from when he would have started School at maybe 4 or 5 years old, this would be 1912-13.
I also know that Harry Morley worked as a goods porter, which I assume was on the local railway.
I have been to dronfield Library and they have a local book with just one picture in of a shop in buckingham Terrace on, which I have been told the locals called it Cammels Row. I do know that the Terrace is not there anymore. The family appeared to have left Unstone at some time later and moved to a village called Ropsley near grantham in lincolnshire. In 1914 harry joined the army and was reported to have died of his wounds in May 1915 in France & Flanders. He may have joined up at a local recruiting office while he was still in Unstone.
Any help would be most welcome and please contact me for any other details if required.
Regards Colin Roberts
